Youth Learn to Fence May/June '25

Our entry level class -- learn the basic attacks and defense of modern fencing!    This class is for new and continuing fencers age 8-13. Fencers typically continue at this level for at least two full sessions.

USA Fencing membership is required.

Level 1

$200 (1 or 2x per week for Jan/Feb.)

Meets Thursday 4:45 - 5:45  AND/OR Saturday 9am-10. Starts May 1, ends June 28

No Class 5/24 & 5/26 - Memorial Day Weekend

No Class 6/14 - Pomme de Terre tournament

Class requirements:

• Fencers must purchase their own fencing glove. ($15, see registration form.)
  

• Fencers must wear long athletic pants, t-shirts, and clean, dry sneakers to class
• Fencers should bring a water bottle to class. (We have a water bottle filling station.)
• We will provide the necessary equipment for the student's exclusive use while enrolled.  Equipment must be returned on the last day of class. (Excluding glove).
  
• Returning students are asked to provide their own fencing mask.
  
• Participants must bring in a signed enrollment form to their first class.
• Bring your US Fencing membership confirmation to your first class.

Teen/Adult Learn to Fence May/June '25

Teen/Adult Skills May/June '25

Get moving and practice your fencing skills!  More advanced techniques and tactics will be covered and this class will also give you an opportunity to fence with your peers.  For experienced foil and epee fencers age 13+

Youth Skills May/June 2025

level 2

Get moving and practice your fencing skills!  This intermediate level class features a variety of skill development exercises and bouting.  Class runs for 75 minutes.  This class is for experienced fencers age 8-13.

1 - 2x per week for Mar/Apr Cost: $225 Starts March 1, ends April 26.

No Class 5/24 & 5/26 - Memorial Day Weekend

No Class 6/14 - Pomme de Terre tournament

USA Fencing Membership Required

Monday 4:45- 6 AND/OR Saturday 10-11:15

Class requirements:

• Fencers must wear long athletic pants, t-shirts, and clean, dry sneakers to class.
• Purchase of a body cord is required (see registration form).
  
• Fencers should bring a water bottle to class. (We have a water bottle filling station.)
• We will provide a set of the necessary equipment for new student's exclusive use while enrolled.  Equipment must be returned on the last day of class.

• Returning students are asked to provide their own fencing mask.
  
• Participants must bring in a signed enrollment form to their first class.

Teen/Adult Competitive Training May/June 2025

$300

Level 3 - WFC membership required

US Fencing Membership (Access or Competitive) required

Our advanced level class for experienced fencers who are serious about improving their  skills.  Coach's permission required. Fencers should be attending at least two times per week, taking regular private lessons and participating in our in-house competitions (as well as local, regional and national competitions if so desired). Age 13+

Monday 6-8 pm

Wednesday 6-8 pm

Saturday 12-2pm

No Class 5/24 & 5/26 - Memorial Day Weekend

No Class 6/14 - Pomme de Terre tournament

Optional Private Lesson add-ons (To be scheduled directly with coach):

• $240 (1 per week, maximum of 8)
• $120 (2 per month)
• $60 (1 per month)

Monday and Wednesday classes conclude with open fencing.

Class requirements:

• Fencers should bring a water bottle to class.
  

• Students at this level should begin providing their own equipment, particularly mask, lame, bodycord and weapon.  We will continue to provide any equipment you don't have.  Full uniform is required, including fencing pants.
  
• Participants must bring in a signed enrollment form to their first class.

WFC May 10th 2025 In-House Foil Competition

Join us for our second in-house tournament of the year!  Open to WFC fencers, including those with little or no prior competitive experience.

Want to see how you stack up against your classmates?

Want to test your skills and chart your progress as a fencer?

Entry Fee: $25

You must register by Thursday 5/8

This event is restricted to currently enrolled students and approved guests.  Please contact us if you are not a current WFC student and would like to participate to see if you are eligible.

Youth 10 foil: check-in closes at 2pm

for fencers  born 2014-2017

Boys Youth 12, Youth 14: check-in closes at 2pm

for fencers born 2010-2013

Girls Youth 12, Youth 14, Cadet: check-in closes at 3:30

for fencers born 2009-2013

Adult Novice Foil: check-in closes at 3:30

for all fencers in our teen/adult classes

Fencers MUST arrive before the close of check-in or they will be scratched.

Please allow for approximately 3 hours to complete each event.  Depending on the numbers, events may be further divided or combined to facilitate smooth running of the event.
