Owner, Head Coach
Syd comes to the WFC with over 27 years experience as head coach of the Boston College Varsity Fencing Team, which she led to multiple New England Collegiate Championships. Instrumental in the early growth of the Boston Fencing Club to one of the largest clubs in the U.S., Fadner is a former chair of the New England Division and member of the NCAA Northeast Regional Committee. Primarily a foilist, her long competitive career includes national finals in all three weapons.
Coach Fadner is available for private lessons by prior arrangement Weekday and Saturday Afternoons.
Brandeis fencing head coach for over 30 years, Shipman is an accredited fencing master. Selected seven times as a coach for the US Olympic Festival, Shipman was honored as the United States Fencing Coaches Association Coach of the Year in 1994.
Coach Shipman will be available for private lessons by prior arrangement on Thursday evenings.

"Dez" is a professional magician and passionate fencing enthusiast with more than 10 years experience in outdoor and physical education. He was the Program Director at Camp Oceanwood in Ocean Park, ME and has experience teaching youth, families and adults. He began fencing at the University of Southern Maine's "Blade Society" and continued at "Guard Up!" in Burlington, MA.
Dez will be assisting with Saturday classes.
Head Coach of the Worcester Polytechnic Institute's fencing team since the early 80's, Coach Brown is a USFCA certified Moniteur d'Armes. Brown began his coaching career in Great Britain, and prior to coming to WPI was an assistant coach at Ohio State University.
He is available by appointment for private lessons in all three weapons.
David is responsible for the care and upkeep of club equipment and facilities. He is also available to repair personal fencing equipment.
